We’re keeping tabs on every confirmed restaurant opening in Prosper so you know exactly what’s coming to your town and what’s already worth a visit. This is the only local source that actually stays current.
Now Open
1. Urban Cookhouse at Gates of Prosper
Urban Cookhouse opened its doors in August 2025 at the Gates of Prosper (1151 S. Preston Rd.), marking the Alabama-based chain’s first Texas location. This is a farm-to-table concept run by James Zemlock, a Frisco restaurateur with three decades in hospitality and connections to Grimaldi’s Pizzeria and The Capital Grille. The menu features wood-fired meats, fresh salads, and daily specials like grilled pork tenderloin and smoked turkey combos. Their weekend brunch is a standout - think a shared charcuterie board loaded with smoked bacon, seasonal fruit, pastries, and deviled eggs for $25.
Everything here emphasizes local sourcing, so you’re getting North Texas produce on your plate. It’s solid, approachable food in a casual setting, not fancy but thoughtfully done.

2. 1902 Restaurant & Mary Ann’s Speakeasy (Downtown Prosper)
This is the big one. 1902 is set to open this summer in downtown Prosper at 209 W. Broadway - the old Prosper Wine House location. The name pays homage to the year Prosper was founded, and the whole concept is built around elevated dining with serious attention to detail.
Chef Amy DiBiase, French-trained and a Johnson & Wales graduate, is running the kitchen. You’ll find house-made pasta, quality steaks, and desserts that feel special. Downstairs is the main restaurant with full service. Upstairs, tucked away like a secret, is Mary Ann’s Speakeasy - a Prohibition-era lounge serving craft cocktails and hosting rotating entertainment. The space is getting a complete renovation: new state-of-the-art kitchen, fresh seating for intimacy, and an elevator for accessibility.
If you’ve been wanting a place in Prosper that feels intentional and grown-up, this is it. This one’s worth the wait.
Location: 209 W. Broadway St. (Downtown Prosper) Cuisine: American / Fine Dining Expected Opening: Summer 2026 Notable Feature: Upstairs speakeasy with craft cocktails
3. Zaxby’s (Coming Soon)
Zaxby’s, the Georgia-based chicken chain, is headed to Prosper with construction set to break ground in April 2026. If you’re not familiar, Zaxby’s does fried chicken fingers and wings, salads, sandwiches, and indulgent sides like loaded fries and fried pickles. It’s the kind of spot you grab when you want something quick, solid, and beyond your standard fast-food fare.
We don’t have a confirmed location yet, but keep an eye on any announcements from the town - it should land somewhere along the Tollway corridor or near major retail hubs like Frontier Parkway.
Cuisine: Fast Casual / Chicken Expected Opening: Late 2026 Status: Under construction
Under Development / Rumored
4. Dallas Parkway & Frontier Parkway Retail Development
The town of Prosper has approved a mixed-use development at the intersection of Dallas Parkway and Frontier Parkway that will eventually include multiple restaurant and retail spaces. A 34.6-acre property with grocery, banking, and hospitality components is still in planning phases, but this is where future dining will likely pop up. Think national chains and local concepts taking advantage of new retail centers.
This project is being reviewed for the third time, which tells you it’s going to happen - just watch the Prosper town website for updates.
5. Saddle Creek Commercial (Mixed Restaurant/Office Use)
Another development on the horizon is Saddle Creek Commercial, a 13.6-acre retail center with nine buildings designated for office and restaurant uses. No specific tenants announced yet, but this signals Prosper continues to attract dining investment.
Keep an Eye On Prosper’s Growing Food Scene
Prosper’s been growing fast, and the restaurant scene is finally catching up. Whether it’s a new concept like 1902 or reliable chains like Zaxby’s, the next year is shaping up to bring real options to neighborhoods like Windsong Ranch, Star Trail, and everyone in between.
